'Squirting': What Is It All About?

Have you heard about the famous "squirting" or female ejaculation? If not, it's definitely time to have a chat about it! We tend to use the two terms interchangeably, but as we'll see later, it's not quite the same.

Nowadays, there are still skeptical ones who think that squirting is a myth (they're probably the same ones who also believe that female orgasm is an urban legend, or that the clitoris is a character from Asterix comics - probably spelled "Clitorix"!).

But I digress… Nevertheless, by looking at History, we could almost believe that women of today could be more spoiled by the men of yesterday. Back in Ancient China, erotic tales were already describing the G-spot and female ejaculation, recommending to drink from "women's chalice"...

In both Taoism and Tantrism, the pleasure between two beings is a sacred ritual in which physiological ejaculation is specific to men and women on an equal footing.

In the meantime, we don't really know what happened. But it's around the 19th century that things turned sour for women. Indeed, assertive sexuality is a dangerous, depraved, even pathological type of sexuality.

Let's be crystal clear here. At that time, a woman who comes and ejaculates is far from conforming to the image of the desired sexually passive companion: a mere receptacle for sperm!

But in all this, is squirting real? Well, it continues to make waves... So much that in 2014, videos in which women squirted were restricted to the English. Why? Because the censorship office felt that the liquid gushing out of these ladies could not be anything other than piss, and certainly not "jade water" as the Chinese asserted.

Even today, it causes division among professional opinions and those of your neighbor picking his nose in the elevator. As usual, women's bodies and their functions keep causing problems.

Let's explore together, G-spot in hand, this fascinating phenomenon! ♥

#1 Is squirting just pee?

No. Well, sometimes yes, a little. Perhaps. It depends. Here are the scientific answers found online. And none of them actually help.

So, what's really happening? Several studies have been carried out, using different parameters.

A first study analyses the composition of the liquid released by several women and finds out that some samples contain urine only. In contrast, the others have varying amounts of urine mixed with a secretion coming from the Skene glands (known as the female prostate)!

#2 Where does squirting come from?

That's when it becomes interesting!

A second study uses ultrasound to understand the origin of this miraculous liquid. Before starting the experiment, volunteers were asked to empty their bladders. It was noted that at the moment of climax (still with the help of ultrasounds), the bladder fills up again, and empties after ejaculation.

Now, let's get back to the Skene glands. Being located between the vagina and the bladder, with a canal leading to the urethra, their role in the female ejaculation process is essential. Actually, they even produce milk-like secretions close to male ejaculate (without the sperm).

So, if the squirting fluid comes from the bladder, and if there is urine in it, could a non-emptied bladder cause squirting before starting activities leading to female ejaculation…?

#3 Are squirting and female ejaculation the same thing?

Not really. During the studies, two different secretions are distinguished. The first one is very liquid (the squirt), while the other one is milky (ejaculation).

Both of them have different urine concentrations depending on the samples. The first one is linked to the bladder and pelvic muscles, and the second to the Skene glands.

#4 Can all women squirt?

By deduction, yes. As long as you have a vagina, Skene glands and pelvic muscles. But since we're not all exactly the same, it may take practice for some women more than others, and the help of different methods to achieve it.

#5 One can only squirt thanks to an internal stimulation of the point G.

FALSE! The G-spot is the internal part of the clitoris (or Clitorix, for our friends who are suspicious of its real existence).

It means that the stimulation is clitoral anyway, and so, squirting can also occur through external stimulation of this precious device.

#6 I'm afraid to pee while squirting...?

It's possible to find urine mixed with the secreted liquid, because, as we said, squirting fluid comes from the bladder.

Empty it before your acrobatics, stay hydrated, and the presence of urine in the squirt will be minimal.

#7 Does squirt = orgasm?

NO! It is possible that squirting occurs without having an orgasm.

You'll be left high and dry (or not) if you think they are interdependent. You can have an orgasm without squirting in the same way that you can squirt without having an orgasm.

But when they show up at the same time, that's when you'll see fireworks! ♥

#8 What are the best positions to squirt?

Once again, all women are different. So it depends on their anatomy and their partner's one, or the object 'assisting' in this operation.

If you are two, you can favor angles where the G-spot is particularly stimulated. Here is a small list (non-exhaustive) from the Kama Sutra:

#9 Can I make myself squirt?

Yes! That's the spirit! Pick the tool that suits your preferences: sex toys for internal stimulation, and a vibrator or fingers for external stimulation. Everything is (almost) possible!

Some women prefer to do it in a bathtub or a shower to avoid cleaning afterward, while others put a towel on their bed to be comfortable. You're free to find your quirky spot and lend yourself a hand wherever and however you want it!

It can also be a way to become more intimate with yourself: trying to discover which technique works, which one doesn't while taming your sensations.

#10 What are the best sex toys for squirting?

Because we're all so different, there is a wide variety of sex toys that can take us to squirters' seventh heaven.

You'll find a fairly complete list of the 14 best sex toys for squirting by Buzzfeed that you can discover at your own pace.

#11 What about squirting in porn?

No, we don't all squirt the same either. Eruptions worthy of Bellagio de Las Vegas aren't close to anything most women will experience. What you generally see in mainstream porn (sorry if it makes you go soft…) is rigged!

Some actresses admit they simply urinate when the director gives the signal. Others have their vagina filled with a liquid solution (known as vaginal douching) to expel large volumes of liquid.

Anyway, squirting remains a different experience for all women, in quantity as in power. That's life...

#12 Kegels: magical exercises to control the pelvic muscles... and improve our orgasms!

What are Kegels? Simply a series of exercises that you can do at home while watching Netflix, with or without Geisha balls. What do they do exactly?

Geisha balls are weights that can be inserted into the vagina. By contracting the muscles of the pelvic floor, we can keep the balls inside, thus strengthening the muscles that control a lot of things that happen in the area during an orgasm.

You have surely felt it yourself: when a woman has an orgasm, these muscles contract involuntarily. If we told you that during intercourse, contracting these same muscles can help reach orgasm? Because the movements and contractions will directly stimulate the G-spot.

And what's the connection with squirting? Glad you're asking! An intense orgasm will make the pelvic muscles work and can induce squirting. So, the more these muscles are stimulated, the more they can help with squirting. ♥

#13 Sensual massage: a must to get in the mood.

Now that we have talked about contractions, we will approach our last point: relaxation.

It may seem contradictory, but actually, it's not. Getting into the swing of things stimulates the whole body and the mind, and clearly involves more than unconscious sexual intercourse.

To invoke the orgasmic gods and goddesses within us, start by sensually caressing yourself on the right pressure points to release tension and intensify pleasure.

To help you find them, here are the 8 pressure points to know that help releasing our sexual energy

Most of these points can be reached without a partner, and even the sacrum if you have massage balls at home… ♥

With that being said, enjoy your squirting time y'all!
